What is Cloud Migration?
Think about how much data your company has stored and processed with a single destination. Moving from an on-premises data backup system to the strict security and online backup of a cloud-based system is considered Cloud Migration. The public (cloud) storage services are Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and IBM Cloud. They offer personal assistance regarding its migration services which always have one team available at any given time.
The Advantages of Cloud Movement over Traditional Storage Options
There is a common misperception that cloud storage is risky. Unfortunately, this nagging feeling of dilemma and insecurity can sometimes cause companies to stay with their existing traditional storage methods. So if you're thinking about transferring, it's likely because your company is growing or your current storage configuration is old and obsolete.

What cloud migration strategy should enterprises adopt?
Enterprises should choose a migration strategy that aligns with their risk tolerance, business goals, and corporate culture. The "5 R's" are a popular name for these cloud migration strategies:
Rehost - Think of rehosting as "doing the same thing, but on cloud servers." This technique requires companies to choose an IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-Service) provider and rebuild their application architecture on that infrastructure.
Refactoring allows businesses to reuse existing code and frameworks while running their applications on a PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service) provider's platform rather than on IaaS, as with rehosting.
Revise - This method rewrites or expands the code base in part before delivering it via rehosting or refactoring.
Rebuild - Rewriting and re-architecting an application from the ground up on a PaaS provider's platform is referred to as "rebuilding." This is a time-consuming process, but it allows developers to use PaaS vendors' modern features.
Replace - Companies can also choose to completely abandon their old systems in favor of pre-built SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) applications from third-party providers.
Cloud Deployment Methods
Cloud computing, a model in which resources are accessed via the
Internet, operates through three fundamental service models: on-premises,
horizontally, and private cloud deployment.
1. On-premises deployment means having centralized, on-site
servers and buildings dedicated to hosting servers for use.
2. Horizontal deployment refers to using computing resources from
multiple companies through a shared infrastructure.
3. Private cloud refers to having dedicated computer systems at both company sites and data centers owned by companies (or large organizations).
Each cloud deployment method has its benefits and limitations.
However, a hybrid cloud is considered the most viable option for enterprises
because it gives complete flexibility for all data - on-premise or off-premise.
